Account setup - Parent

- Both the parent/guardian and the child must have a First Checking Account with First Financial Bank.
- Parent/guardian must be a joint owner on the child’s account.
- Both must have Online Banking access.

- Log in to Online Banking or the First Financial Bank Mobile App.
- Click on the registration link First Checking block on the home page.
- Complete the registration form and accept disclosures.
- Add children by selecting their account, entering details, and choosing an avatar.

Yes. Children need login credentials to access First Checking Digital Banking Experience independently. Parents may still manage on their own behalf.

Yes. They’ll continue to have access until they transition to regular checking accounts or stop using First Checking Digital Banking Experience.

Account Management - Parent

- Parent: From Settings, select Change Associated Parent Account and choose the preferred account.
- Child: From the child’s profile, select Change Linked Child Account and update.

Transactions post directly to accounts labeled “First Checking Allowance” or “First Checking Transfer.”

Use the Transfer Money option in Settings or approve requests/tasks that trigger transfers.

Parents can transfer funds back from the child’s account to their own via Online Banking.

From the child’s profile, select Remove Child Profile. The account and Online Banking remain active.

- From Settings, choose Unregister/Disclosure Opt-Out. This deletes First Checking Digital Experience data (tasks, loans, requests) but leaves accounts active.

- All First Checking Digital Experience data is deleted. If you re-enroll, you must re-create tasks, profiles, and settings.
Tasks - Parent

- Log in → open First Checking Digital Experience→ select child → Earn tab → Assign Task.
- Choose a preset or create a custom task, enter a reward, and submit.

- Pending tasks appear under Need Parental Review.
- Parents can approve, deny, or request more work.

From the task menu, select Unassign Task and confirm.

Children see assigned tasks in their Earn tab, mark them as complete, and optionally upload photos.
Budgets & Savings Goals - Parent

From the Save tab, enter deposits, expenses, savings, and giving. Monthly and daily spending are calculated automatically.

Select Create a Savings Goal, enter description and target amount, and submit.

From the savings goal, add progress amounts and view updates.
Grades & Rewards - Parent

The child selects New Report Card, uploads a photo, and enters grades.

Parents see pending requests, verify grades, adjust reward amounts if needed, and approve or deny.
Allowance - Parent

Yes, by setting up a recurring transfer from your account to your child’s.

From the child’s profile menu, select Set Allowance, enter the amount, frequency, and start date, then confirm.
Trophies - Parent

- Make 5 loan payments on time.
- Pay off a loan.
- Reach a savings goal.
- Complete a monthly budget.
- Finish 5 tasks.
- Watch educational videos.

In the Save tab → Trophies Earned → select Progress or Leaderboard. Rankings show household and institution-wide positions.
Money Requests - Parent

- In the Earn tab, select New Request → Request Money, enter amount and reason, then submit.

Parents can see pending requests in the child’s profile and approve or deny them.

- Money request: one-time funds, no repayment required.
- Loan request: larger purchase, requires repayment with interest.

The request will fail with an error message.
Loans - Parent

Loans are agreements between a parent and a child (not First Financial Bank) to teach about repayment and interest. Parents set the terms and interest.

Child submits a request in the Earn tab, toggles Loan Request, selects term and repayment frequency, and submits.

Yes, for future loans. Modify the interest rate in Settings before approving a new loan.

No. Once approved and funded, the loan must be repaid.

Giving - Parent

First Checking Digital Banking Experience allows children to donate to verified charities listed in the program. Donations can be one-time or recurring.

Kids' Questions

No. Only one loan can be open at a time.
