Chairman, President and CEO, First Financial Trust
Experience
As president and CEO of First Financial Trust, Kirk Thaxton oversees a team of dedicated professionals focused on client defined objectives and personalized customer service. Kirk joined First National Bank of Abilene as an assistant trust officer in 1983. He worked in the trust division of InterFirst Bank Abilene from 1986 until 1989, when he rejoined First National, now First Financial Bank. Three years later, Kirk received the Chairman’s Award from the bank for distinguished service.
Education
Mr. Thaxton graduated from Abilene Christian University with a Bachelor of Business degree in accounting. In 1995, he earned a graduate certificate with honors from the National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University. He also is a CTFA (Certified Trust and Financial Advisor).
Activities
Involved with a variety of professional and civic groups over the years, Kirk currently serves on the boards of West Texas Rehab and the Abilene Regional Airport. He previously served as Administrative Council of the Texas Bankers Association’s Wealth Management & Trust Division.
